We operate as a public-private partnership and a UK registered charity headquartered in Edinburgh.

The purpose of the role of GALVmed’s Senior Director, Enabling Environment & Partner Engagement, is to provide strategic and process-driven stakeholder and partner engagement with the aim to co-create a powerful enabling environment providing solutions to complex livestock health issues. An apt negotiator, facilitator and strategic coalition builder, the Senior Director will be able to analyse trends in the livestock ecosystem, identify interests and synergies, and implement key institutional and operational initiatives that drive change in a dynamic and changing livestock health environment. The Senior Director will represent GALVmed internally and externally, managing GALVmed’s Enabling Environment Department, and engaging with various audiences, including the private sector, regulators, academic and research institutions, policymakers, investors, the veterinary community and veterinary service providers and other relevant stakeholders with the aim to cultivate new and existing partnerships and acting a catalyst of synergies.

We are seeking a dynamic, insightful and visionary individual, preferably with knowledge of the African livestock value chains and market dynamics, who displays professional values of excellence, collaboration, inclusivity, and innovation and manages the activity in view of furthering GALVmed’s global impact. Working under the overall guidance of, and reporting directly to the CEO, and as a member of the GALVmed Leadership Team, the appointee will operate autonomously and play a key role in GALVmed’s institutional stewardship and engagement with the livestock ecosystem. The Senior Director will further advise on partnership opportunities locally and internationally, with overall responsibility for GALVmed’s presence in Kenya.
